The activity was focussed on the land-ocean-atmosphere carbon fluxes and in particular on the following objectives:

• Determine the status of pan-European land-ocean-atmosphere carbon flux monitoring and identify the associated methodologies;
• Identify poorly-monitored regions with significant and/or changing land-ocean carbon fluxes; and
• Provide guidance on future requirements for continual land-ocean-atmosphere carbon flux monitoring, including the integration of existing infrastructure, as ICOS and other national infrastructures and data products.
