A European conference on sea-level rise in Venice

Venice, one of the symbolic cities of the mission open to sea level rise, is hosting the Sea Level Rise Conference 2022, an international conference organised by the Joint Programming Initiative - JPI, with the participation of researchers from OGS, the National Research Council - CNR, the Euro-Mediterranean Centre Foundation on Climate Change - CMCC and the Emilia Romagna Region.

Today and tomorrow, 17 and 18 October, more than 300 participants will gather at the prestigious headquarters of the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista to deepen scientific knowledge on sea level rise and identify the main research directions for the coming decades at regional and local level in Europe. In addition, the needs for developing and implementing mitigation and adaptation measures in the coastal areas of the most affected regions will be discussed together with researchers and social and political partners from the public and private sectors.
