December 11, New infrastructures for ECCSEL network

ECCSEL, the network of selected Centres of Excellence on Carbon Capture and Storage research (CCS) is enriched with two new facilities.

OGS Explora, the research vessel with ocean capacity, and PITOP, the test site for geophysical measurements, have recently joined the infrastructure network. Two important resources are now available to the national and international scientific community.

To date, there are a total of seven facilities that OGS makes accessible to the international scientific community: in addition to OGS Explora and Pitop, there are two natural laboratories of Panarea and Latera, the marine biology laboratory, the DeepLab and the research aircraft.

This result confirms the interest of OGS in research infrastructures, that the institute has been internationally implementing for many years
