3 February, OGS at Euro-Mediterranean Forum

Dr Angelo Camerlenghi and Dr Mounir Ghribi from OGS participated in the Euro - Mediterranean Forum 28-29 January 2015 in Barcelona at the headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) as representatives of Italy within the dialogue 5+5.  The initiative seeks to strengthening cooperation in Science and Technology, Innovation and High Education and concerns 10 countries around the West Mediterranean sea countries, Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya on the southern rim and Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Malta on the northern rim.

This technical meeting aims at discussing and rectifying a number of documents including the ministerial declaration to be agreed during the future ministerial conference on research innovation and high education which will take place in Madrid from 23 to 24 March 2015.

During the Barcelona meeting, discussions were focused on international research and innovation projects to facilitate the gaining and efficient management of resources from competitive international projects and programmes, especially in Horizon 2020 and in other EU programmes like COST action, Erasmus+, and to make easier and more efficient the management of these resources and their exploitation.
